March 15, 2010 (Philadelphia, PA) — Idryonis Studios, a multimedia and application development company with offices in Philadelphia, PA and Greenville, SC, has completed the music and sound design for Deep Ocean Safari. Deep Ocean Safari is an interactive ocean literacy project for EnTCo’s The Ride Works, a themed entertainment engineering design and manufacturing company.

Deep Ocean Safari can be experienced in a variety of ways, including motion simulators and coin-operated kiosks at zoos, aquariums, and science centers. This new type of digital experience lets people become part of an engaging story about everyone's connection to the ocean. Their photos from the experience can become souvenirs of their unique dive in a US national treasure.

Idryonis' job came into play near the end of development. The Ride Works required vast amounts of sound design work, including Hollywood-quality sound effects, ambient sound design, triggered sounds, and a custom-composed dramatic score. Multiple configurations of the simulator ride are manufactured and sold around the globe, including coin-operated kiosks, motion simulators, and theater packages. These feature Idryonis audio and music work in full surround sound.

Rob Lloyd, President & Chief Creative Officer of The Ride Works, commented on Idryonis’ work. “Idryonis produces top-quality work. Budgets always stay in check and their energy and attention to detail is fantastic”, he stated.

Idryonis Upgrades a Custom Large Format Touchscreen Game

Over the weekend, Baxter Healthcare featured a 60-inch touchscreen game by Idryonis Studios in their tradeshow booth. Idryonis initially built the game as a custom, branded interactive challenge in 2008. However, Baxter ordered several changes and enhancements for a recent tradeshow in California.

Players progress through a series of questions about Baxter's pharmaceutical products to earn prizes.

Updates Completed on Custom Kiosk Survey Application

Idryonis Studios recently completed upgrades and enhancements to a custom kiosk application for Chattem, makers of ACT Mouthwash. In 2007 Idryonis was contracted to develop the kiosk application and has been providing support and upgrades since then.

One major upgrade was the addition of tradeshow badge scanning. This enables lead collection capabilities by requiring attendees to simply swipe their tradeshow ID badge before taking the survey. The survey consists of 6 questions aimed at dental professionals. The results of which help Chattem to evaluate their marketing of ACT Mouthwash, meanwhile the effortless lead collection allows Chattem to easily launch direct marketing campaigns.

Deep Ocean Safari video released

A behind-the-scenes video of Deep Ocean Safari, a game that features the music and sound design of Idryonis, was released today. The YouTube video chronicles the development of the game, story development, and the motion simulator ride.

All the music and sound design in the game was composed and produced by Idryonis Studios.

Idryonis Produces Video Presentation for HCEA

    For the fourth straight year, Idryonis Studios was hired to produce the kick-off video presentation for the Healthcare Convention and Exhibitors Association.

    The HCEA had a handful of pre-approved images that needed to be brought to life. Idryonis incorporated additional elements such as custom 3D animations, and underwater caustic effects to add to the overall aesthetic. The video production also included a completely custom orchestral score.

    The presentation was displayed on a huge screen as the main kick-off event for the HCEA 2009 Annual Meeting.

The video and original score will be available in the online portfolio.
