Idryonis Studios® has been hired by the NASTAR Center to produce the visual and audio design of Virgin Galactic's space flight training software. Virgin Galactic is moving closer to becoming the worlds first commercial space-line; and the NASTAR Center has established itself as the world leader in aviation and space flight training and research. Idryonis Studios is proud to work with the NASTAR Center on this prestigious project for Virgin Galactic and to position ourselves as a world-leader in multimedia development.
A recent contract between the NASTAR Center and Virgin Galactic to cooperate in the on-going training of space travelers going aboard Virgin Galactic's spacecrafts opened up a creative channel for Idryonis. Back in 2005, NASTAR Center's sister company, Entertainment Technology Corporation selected Idryonis Studios to develop the game for a now-popular motion simulator ride attraction, Monster Roll Cage. Since then Idryonis' relationship with ETC has flourished. Now, ETC has selected Idryonis to develop all on-screen graphics, visual effects, audio effects, soundscapes, and portions of the tactile effects for the Virgin Galactic training simulator.
The simulation software is run in a totally enclosed cockpit featuring a 180-degree dome display and surround sound system attached to the STS-400 Centrifuge in the NASTAR Center's training facilities. Trainees will experience sustained G forces as they are taken on a life-like space launch into a suborbital flight. During the space flight, riders encounter the breath-taking visuals of Earth and the accurately modeled cabin along with the astonishing sound effects and audio associated with exiting and re-entering Earth's atmosphere.
